Watch ebay. If you watch long enough, someone will list it for auction.
Some stuff is very cheap there, other stuff sells for as much as new. Know
what you're looking for and it's approximate value and check once a week.

Before I got automated search software, I had a series of bookmarks stored,
so I could check for various items with a single mouse click.
