Depending on what you mean by "very sturdy", Ten Tec has quite a range of the sort of case you describe. They are a little pricey but very nice. Also, http://home.flash.net/~k3iwk/ has a range of cases and looks like he will custom make cases, as well. If your cases don't need to be too big, Northern Industrial has a small brake and shear that is pretty inexpensive and will take fairly heavy material. Santa brought me one for Christmas and I've been playing with making the sort of case you describe, but I need a lot more practice before I become even moderately proficient. If you're a little better than I at this fabricating stuff, that might be an approach. 72/73 de WB8RCR http://www.qsl.net/wb8rcr didileydadidah QRP-L #1446 Code Warriors #35 ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Pearson" To: Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004 10:41 AM Subject: [EE:] Enclosure sources Well, I am having trouble finding the enclosure I need. I need the type that without the cover, the chassis part has a bottom, front and back. Then the cover makes up the sides and top. The thing is, the chassis section, or front and back panels, needs to be very sturdy since they will mount barbed tubing fittings, and will have a lot of force and stress applied at times (installing and removing tubing to the fittings. And I need the open sides on the chassis for easier assembly and adjustments. So these need to be pretty thick material. Sounds like I need to fab them. Any ideas where something like this could be bought. Thanks John -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
