I second this - do not use network solutions. If you have a domain name that expires, they take all the money from you that they can before allowing you to reregister it, telling you that it's a difficult process, etc, etc. If you are trying to get someone else's expired domain they tell you that they give people a 'grace period' and will not allow you to register it - even if it's 6 months expired. They will, however, offer their 'domain watch' service which, for $75 or so, will /try/ to get the domain for you the 'instant it becomes available'. Of course this is no gurantee, and they'll let as many people purchase this service for the same domain name as are willing to do so. The renewal mail they send you they send to all contacts in hopes of getting someone worried who may not know that an expiration 9 months into the future is not a big concern. I suspect they've made harvesting whois information a little harder so they can sell the mailing lists of domain contacts, instead of having them freely available. They get you coming, going, and every other way they can. -Adam Dan Oelke wrote: > I'm sorry - but I can't let this one go by - > > PLEASE do not use Network Solutions. > 1) They are expensive ( about 3x going rate) > 2) They run their business in a less than respectable manner. > > They have pulled a number of shennagins as to how domain names are > handled.
