It doesn't have most of the theory that we EEs learn; it's more of a collection of circuits and techniques, written by physicists who needed to learn electronics to make instrumentation. It's also getting a bit long in the tooth. The 3rd edition is probably years away, however, judging by how Win Hill talks about it, and you can get a lot of benefit out of it in the meantime.
