I've got a question about this book. How much does it cover? Looking at the
table of contents as provided by barnes&noble's website, it looks like the
book basically starts with transistor design/implementation. Does "Chapter
1: Foundations" cover the very basics, e.g. RC circuits and the like?

Amazon lets you see a few pages of Chapter 1 as well as the index. The
answer to your question is yes, the first chapter covers RC circuits and the
like.
