Fair enough. Me too. Despite best intentions I don't really have
the time to mess about. You do hope for the best but ultimately
it's probably a waste of half a work day, so just have a sigh and
a mutter and get another one out of the tube. If it was a $50 chip
or difficult for some reason (a hobbyist budget for example) to
get another probably I'd expend some effort
