Fair enough but ebay is an auction site. This site is a site where people can offer bulk or individual items to like minded people at a price that they think is fair > Technical help/chat: PICList Fair enough again but its nice to have an alternative to the piclist that isnt email based. Forums are generally a good way to get involved in a discussion and can be faster to search for information than mailing list based alternatives. I'm in no way trying to compete with the Piclist, I just thought it would be nice to have something similar (and not Yahoo Groups based) that people could also use. > Other uses: If it'll mow my lawn in the summertime, that'd be useful. > Mmmmmm - I dont think it can do that yet - you might want to advertise for someone to do it for you on my forums ;-) > > How are you handling fraud / people claiming to have parts they don't > have? Its more of an introduction agency kind of site rather than an escrow site. To set up a site that would be more "auction" like would take a lot more funds and time and as this site is free and always will be then thats out of the question. I have done quite a few transactions that havent been auction based recently and while it is a little nerveracking to start with if you're careful then its not too bad. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
