I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of memory PDAs use. The three possibilities I see are: SRAM Flash SDRAM SRAM is really expensive in any size over 4Mib... 64MiB would seem prohibitively expensive, yet some companies use it... And for products that colst little more than the price of their LCD too. Flash Is non-volatile, yet PDAs don't use it. Probably because of the write life. SDRAM uses a lot of power, and requires refresh to maintain its memory. So, SRAM looks like the most suitable for PDAs, but I can't see how they can kepp the prices down with SRAM. Is there something I'm missing here? Or am I just looking in the wrong places for SRAM? --Brendan -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
