FHSS is usually pretty trivial to add to modules that use DDS synthesizers, or have fast PLL VCOs. You're just channel hopping after all, so your own firmware can do it. You just have to make certain that your master and slave both agree on the channel order, and have a means to 'sync up' should they loose lock step. DSSS (Direct Sequence) is more desirable, IMO, because of the intrinsic gain and noise immunity to be had, and the ability to share the same spectrum space with minimal collision/interference. CDMA cell phones are a good proof of the strength of DSSS. I'm still looking for some DSSS RF modules for the ISM bands 433/915, and possibly 2.4Ghz. This slash dot article makes some comments about what happens when you have a few hundred roboteers in an arena trying to make 802.11 work (NOT!). http://ask.slashdot.org/askslashdot/03/09/26/203259.shtml?tid=137&tid=193 http://ask.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=80148&cid=7069763 Robert -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
