I also recommend Horowitz, but as the owner of TEN intro to electronics books, the best I have read is Electronics, A Self-Teaching Guide 2nd edition by Harry Kybett ISBN 0-471-00916-4 I am not sure it is still in print and it is all analog. the book is set up as a series of problems and solutions, it really is the best Intro to Electronics book I have ever read.
