Checking the Windows API button now allows me to successfully use the Test Hardware dialogue. The Data In check box now works correctly. The problem now is that Icprog dies with the following error: err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception. I think this may be a lost cause and that I will have to continue to investigate other PICF876A programming methods under Linux. I also tried xwisp but I didn't really progress very far with it. "./xwisp.py" gave me the help information but "./xwisp.py port /dev/ttyS0 term 1200" returned several error messages including "ValueError: invalid literal for int(): /dev/ttyS0". Most likely I've misunderstood how to use xwisp but I'll continue to experiment with it. -- Regards, Phil. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
