For me, the more information the merrier, and I like the community spirit of both the PICLIST and the Microchip forums. The one thing I especially like about the Microchip forums is that you get to talk with Microchip employees (although it's sometimes hard to discern who's who). I asked the Microchip moderator if the Microchip employees could have special user-name IDs (like a MCHIP_ prefix) so that it would be easier to distinguish them among other user names at a glance. They did not go for this. Not a biggie since most Microchip employees sign their messages with their company affiliation. I don't remember seeing any Microchip employees post here on the PICLIST -- perhaps it is against company policy, but that is just a wild guess on my part. I would love to see Microchip employees on the PICLIST. It's nice to see PICLISTers on the Microchip forum and vice versa. The PICLIST is more fun since it's like the old wild, wild west.
