A cheap ball switch or even an accelerometer. There are also lots of tilit sensors that don't use mercury. Auto manufacturers switched to them years ago, IIRC, and your local auto parts store or dealer should have something you can look at. Finding a cheap manufacturer may be a slight issue, but essentially you use a small ball bearing inside a plastic cage with two contacts on one end. To avoid the spark in air (for combustable gasses) you can also go for a reed switch with a ring magnet that slides up and down the switch. -Adam Wally Barnacle wrote: > Hi All > Thinking of of product that requires lithium coin cells and a tilt > switch. > Since this product will probably be tossed after ten years, is there > any > alternatives to mercury based tilt switches? > Thanks > Wally Barnacle > > _________________________________________________________________ > Enjoy a special introductory offer for dial-up Internet access limited > time only! http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup > > -- > http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
