I wouldn't bet on this. I once looked into hacking some Motorola iDEN
units, and the problem I found with most cell units is that they
transmit and receive on frequencies that aren't in the same range. I
don't know if this holds true for GSM though. IIRC for AMPS the
difference is 40MHz or so...but I'm not sure.
