Why not use an off the shelf solution than design one. Vicor mega module used to be very popular for that. You might be able to find them at surplus sites. A dead one being used as a paper weight on my desk is a 12 to 28V 150W (VI-MB0L-EV.) It has gating control so you can parallel them (though you need one master module and other slave. Errr... Are those still politically correct terms?) Also in the past I have used these vicors in series with the source to get higher voltages. Have used this very powersupply to get 40V from a 12V car battery (Oh wait, maybe that's why it died...) The device I'm wanting to power is a 28vdc radio that at peak current will draw 12a. I've seen some schematics for lower output circuits, but none that will do 12a. Any ideas?
