First, it sounded like you were trying to blame the PIC for your troubles, then you were using Basic on top of that. Since it seemed I was talking to an idiot I gave a very basic answer, which was to look at the signals on a scope to decide if the signals are wrong or their interpretation wrong (not a bad idea in any case). Then you made matters worse by taking offense at that advice, although you didn't seem actually carry out the test. Instead, you whined about lost time and demanded someone else supply you working code! >> You've got a problem which you've wasted days and weeks >> on, but are demanding a free solution for? > > Correct. This is absolutely the height of arrogance. Someone asking for free help is hardly in a position to demand anything. > I do not see why anyone should be shocked by such a > request; A request, no, but a demand is way out of line. > I have monitored Melabs PicBasic Pro mailing list > for months now, it is full of professionnals that provide > free help to beginners and confirmed people alike, and go to > great extents to this end, including spending time to > actually "prototype" and solve other's problems. Lots of people here will help if you are polite, humble, and show that you've taken reasonable steps to solve the problem yourself. Much fewer are willing to help a clueless arrogant jerk. I've probably got more example code and other PIC related stuff on the web for free than most people. See http://www.embedinc.com/pic. However, I've never gotten around to packaging up any of the IIC code into a form suitable for public distribution. Each implementation is a little different and has some of the customer's app mixed in with it. You probably don't understand why it can't just be handed over for free, but it would take some careful removal from the app, generalize the IIC part into a more generic form, write an example test app and make sure the whole thing still works, create the release procedures, etc. It's something I had been thinking of doing in the back of my mind, but so far haven't gotten around to it. However, some arrogant prick demanding I do it pretty much guarantees it won't happen anytime soon. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
