I don't quite understand "tuning and tweaking"

16-bit in, ASCII out. What's there to "tune". If a maths package
is simply a collection of routines then most of my projects would
therefore have a "maths package". It just so happens that every
project has a different one. Maybe I'm missing something
regarding some HLL usage you have, as I work exclusively in
assembler and tailor s/w to suit the application. For example
I wouldn't waste memory space and upload time with a complete
suite of routines (that might include ARCTAN or SQRT) that
would be used in projects only infrequently
