If you don't have a scope, one trick that works is to wrap an insulated piece of wire around the crystal case a couple of times, and leave the end dangling ... the longer the better but a couple of feet is plenty. Then listen for the crystal on a shortwave radio tuned to the crystal frequency or thereabouts. If you have the radio set to receive morse code or SSB, you will hear a whistle. If it's set to receive AM, there will be a quiet spot. If you hear what you think may be the signal, verify it by removing the power from the PIC while you are listening. 72/73 de WB8RCR http://www.qsl.net/wb8rcr didileydadidah QRP-L #1446 Code Warriors #35 -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
