Hi Folks, I am new to PIC programming and a new member of this list so please bear with me if I am asking the wrong questions ;-) I have written my first PIC program which is quite complex for a first attempt (it is for a specific hobby related project). The program is written in PIC Basic Pro (for the most part) as I felt out of my depth with the Microchip language and I have programmed in BASIC before, although it was many years ago. My program runs perfectly when using the demo version of 'PIC Simulator IDE' but for some reason it will not run correctly in the chip/circuit. The main program executes correctly as do two of three subroutines but the third (and crucial) subroutine I cannot get to work at all. If I 'rem' out certain lines I can get it to carry out the remainder of the subroutine but those key lines will not perform. I have searched long and hard on numerous forums, the PICList, the data sheets and the PBP manual but I am still getting nowhere. I now have over 200 hours of my free time invested in this project and while I can taste success it remains just out of reach which is becoming exceedingly frustrating. I have narrowed the problem down (by a process of elimination) to either the PBP 'Random' command and/or my method of 'sampling' the TMR0 timer. If I 'rem' out those lines I can get the remainder of the subroutine to work. I am hoping that someone on here can point me in the right direction as I am now at a total loss as to what to try next. I have a sneaky feeling that the problem is going to have a stupidly simple answer that I am just not spotting (probably through inexperience) but any help would be greatly appreciated. I know you are going to have to see the code in order to help but at this point I do not know if it is common practice on here to post the code as part of the question , to post the code to somewhere on the web and provide a link or to post the code to the web page space provided to PICList members (and I could find no answer to this in the FAQ). So I guess my first question is..... where should I post the code in order to get an answer to this problem? Thanks for taking the time to read this.
