Let me respond to your questions in order. MPLAB allows one to set configurations bits; a window is called from one of the dropdown menus. I have them set to: Oscillator RC Watchdog Timer Off Power Up Timer On Brown Out Detect Off Low Voltage Program Enable Flash Program Write Enable Data EE Read Protect Off Code Protect Off I'm not entirely sure what they do, and so I left most of them at the default value. What are your recommendations as to how they should be set? Also, how does one set them from the program? I'm using a 4.000MHz quartz crystal oscillator on the board. The side of it is stamped CQ 4.000, if that helps. I don't know too much about electronics, which is why I bought a board that was mostly assembled (although I have wondered if I made a poor choice, buying from Oricom). As for the /MCLR, I do not know. What state should it be in? (Sorry - I warned you I was a rank novice.) Thanks for the help, Dan (the ever ignorant) _________________________________________________________________ Make your home warm and cozy this winter with tips from MSN House & Home. http://special.msn.com/home/warmhome.armx -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
