Depending on how large you need, a shear isn't really terribly expensive.
I don't know what that sort of thing might cost in Amersfoort, but on this
side of the pond a shear capable of cutting boards perhaps 200 mm wide or so
only costs a little over 100 euro.  As you go wider, though, they do go up
in cost pretty steeply.
