I visit a couple of board house once or twice a year just to
rummage through their scrap piles. They're always quite
happy for me to take a bagful of, to me very useable, offcuts.
Mostly SS or DS GRP, occassionally phenolic. Now and
then they'll have spare drill bits cheap too. It's worth asking
at about scraps at businesses - what could be a freebie will
probably end up on the tip otherwise. Now is a pretty good
time as many companies have pre-holiday clean-ups
