Hi Nick: The outdoor electrical boxes are called NEMA enclosures. They come in a number of standardized sizes and use a gasket on the door. They have thin wall thickness where a conduit might be attached making it easy to connect conduit. The door is fairly easy to open and close on these and is hinged with captured closing screws so there's nothing to fall in the mud. Also have flanges on the back to allow easy mounting to a wall. For a water tight connector you might consider the U.S. military audio connectors in the U-229 family. They have 5 or 6 pins, are available as surplus and are very rugged. To get an idea of what's available see: http://www.wpi-interconnect.com/GcCatalog/Audio/Audio.htm Have Fun, Brooke Clarke, N6GCE http://www.PRC68.com >Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 21:17:12 -0600 >From: James Nick Sears >Subject: Re: [EE:] Watertight Enclosure > >Thanks.
