I really like the phoenix variosub series, using an standard RJ45,=20
9pole d-sub or 15-pole d-sub. They are rated for IP67 or IP68.

Page only shows the RJ45, I couldn't find an way to get to the
d-sub variants but they do exist, we use then in several products.

They also have feedthrough connectors (female d-sub on both side of =
panel).

The only drawback (for hobbyist) is the square hole you need.=20
(well if you want to use the connector they are design for)

An 9-pole d-sub kit (frame/connector) is around $10 in low quantities.
