Um, best bet (since he seems to not be quite up on Ethernet) is the Lantronix Xport (http://www.lantronix.com I belive). No free samples, sorry. Alternatives include the Realtek RTL8019AS, no inbuilt stack, but cheap and easy to find (look for an old ISA network card), the CS8900, similar pros and cons to the 8019, and flipping to a different family, the EZ80f91 from Zilog, inbuilt MAC, but you need to add the PHY chip.
