MChip won't sample all products, and not all that they will sample are always in stock. They also ship from Singapore, so not too fast. They're quite flexible about sending products; if they don't have some on hand, they'll send the stuff they do have right away. They've never questioned me about my usage; I order from a Hotmail account and have them delivered to my home; my applications are either for my primary job at the university or the secondary job doing datalogging. Take a look at Maxim, TI, and Analog Devices. They have reasonable sample programs too; TI at least follows up.
