Similarly I have ordered various quantities of stuff from Analog without a
problem, except for the first order I send, sampling some accelerometers,
and they sent me logarithmic amplifiers instead!

Microchip have stopped sampling to Australia because of a fair bit of abuse
of the service. Dallas samples arrived verh haphazardly, but their support
documentation when you order is very handy.

Ordered a bunch of stuff from national a week ago, this was my first sample
order through them so I can't comment on how it goes. Fairchild offer a
sample service but declined me and wouldn't give a reason.
