I don't know these days... My son was only 4 when he figured out how to
take off in a 747 in the MicroSoft Flight Sim. He found the CD himself
one day, turned on the PC and started playing around with it.

I think if kids get physical feedback from what they do then they will
learn quickly, especially with some simple guidance. LED flashing,
simple motor control, and the like.

If they really like it, be prepared to pry them off their seat at dinner
time :-)
