> but Vetri, yes artificial retinas would be very helpfull, I can't find any. > ... I googled for LEPs and Artificial Silican Retinas but no luck on where to buy them. You have to work a little with Google for best results. Probably exactly what you want can be found at Robot vision using the Gameboy and its artificial retina IC. Using the Gameboy Camera for Robot Vision http://home.earthlink.net/~apendragn/gbcam/ It says: Mitsubishi's M64282FP Artificial Retina chip is more than just a CMOS imaging chip. It contains internal circuitry to perform such operations as edge enhancement, similar to the human retina. Because of this, it allows some image processing to occur in the imaging chip. Housed in a 16-pin chip, nearly all circuitry needed to capture and process an image exist. The only external components that might be needed would be bias resistors to bring the analog output to an acceptable level for your A/D converter. The block diagram below shows the internal layout of this chip. Google for - artificial retina gameboy for 47 or so other references. > So if anyone finds any please send me a message at oksuzenakos@hotmail.com or at burntmail.com > Is not to much to ask is it..? Done. But it's getting towards being a bit cheeky asking that. While people may go to the extra effort of specifically sending the results directly to you, as you have asked on list, why not just check the list to see what answers you get. if you are NOT doing that then you risk wasting the time of anybody else who takes the effort to reply to you on list. > Anyway, has any of you heard of LEP (Lateral -effect photodiodes). are they on sale anywhere - this could very helpful also. Hamamatsu USA - PSD parts. I imagine they'd be happy to sell you one or more or refer you to a reseller http://usa.hamamatsu.com/cmp-detectors/psds/2D_PSDs.htm Here is a superb and comprehensive article from Circuit Cellar on the use of a Hamamatsu PSD (a LEP) for position measurement. Many pages. Towards the end they have a link to a PDF so you can download as one file plus the code. I suspect an LEP solution is going to be more expensive than you might hope. The Gameboy camera is liable to be a cheaper solution to experiment with for your purposes. - Whole instrument http://www.aculux.com/optical2Dspecs.aspx > Thanks again for your time. You're welcome. You'll get even better value from the list if you use Google thoroughly first so that we can then help with the harder stuff. All the above is/was available via Google.
