If there is anything that breaks surface tension at the meniscus on the small hole all the contents will eventually go out (subject to positive surface tension - convex meniscus). This applies to water, ink (don't ask) and oil equally well. The typical example is the cracked tea mug that won't drip when held in the air and inspected but will make a nasty puddle in a few minutes when put down.
