And they come in a number of different versions, bith with and without z-c logic, which makes them suitable for different tasks. And, I dont think the SSR is a very clever name anyway, *any* triac (or FET or IGBT) could be used as a SSR, it depends on the control logic and how they are connected. For the Sharp modules, I think "opto-Triac" is a better name. The SSR name i better for the FET based modules. Now, the Sharp modules are quite nice, I'd like to use them myself if I just could find a distributor in Europe (that has more then just 3 or 4 of them...).
