Are you sure that the LCD isn't trying to "drive" it's "D6" pin ? It can be both input and output, doesn't it ? Isn't there also a R/W pin at the LCD ? How is that connected ? It might not be a problem with the PIC as such, it might be that the LCD is driving the D6 line and confusing the Wisp...
