I found Myke Predko's book "Programming and Customizing PICmicro
Microcontrollers" to be a pretty good bridge between "I have a pretty
reasonable basic understanding embedded programming and have been
reading PICList for a long time" and "now exactly what was that
important difference between the 12bit and 14bit PICs?  And how do I
set up that A-D converter?"
