The possibilities are just about endless... Well, we have used bluetooth modules (RS232<->Blutooth<->RS232) but they were very pricey (>$250/transciever), recently they have come = down a bit though (appox. $40 / transciever). But still as they are prequalified and are an end products one cannot assume that they will ever be *very* = cheap. I did look at implementing the serial profile myself at one time but, trust me it aint worth it. Just getting it to work is some hefty work, then you must pass the qualifiing etc.=20 Bluetooth is an good idea that went bad IMHO. Profiles are ugly and seems to be a band-aid solution (and makes total connectiviety = impossible). There are several systems nowdays that uses the 2.4Ghz band and are = cheaper and easier to implement (for example look at wireless USb from Cypress). = Beacuse mostly when we are in the pic realm, we only need an wireless data link, = all the 'extra' in the stack seems like an anchor tied to you neck. However I'm still keeping an eye on the development of Bluetooth, and I = might use the new units (+100m range, $40/transciever) when an suitable end = product candidate turns up :) /Tony -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
