I got a 13.5/30V PS at RadioShack (like a big wall wart but with a cord on it) that puts out 1A and I would NOT recommend it as it actually puts out ~35V at the load the P16PRO draws (at least while idle). I noticed the little TO92 regulators on the P16PRO were getting pretty hot but when the 7808 exploded I knew something was wrong. ;-) After replacing a burned transistor or two and the two regulators the same thing happened again and I realized that my "30V" supply was more like 35 so I soldered a 7824 where the connector is supposed to be and hardwired my PS to it. Moral of the story - Radioshack PS may be OK but stick to the middle of the acceptable voltage or regulate it again. Probably the cheapest thing to do would be to just get a step down transformer (probably could get an appropriate one at 'the shack') and use the rectifier on the P16PRO but I can't vouch for the goodness of this approach. Should be fine though - just be careful...120VAC bites.
