No. But it persists on the screen for a short period of time. A very short period of time if the write speed is high. Turn the intensity up and the lights down low. But typically you have control of the device under test, and you can set it up do a continuously recurring event. Analog scopes were all we had for many years. Digital scopes give you a couple more features, but for the most part you can live without them. Don't buy a worthless digital toy! When comparing them, a 100 MSps digital scope has about the same usefulness as a 5 MHz analog scope. Remember this is not the last scope you will ever buy!
