The most important of these > is time. I never used to be much of a fan of Nikon, but when I got my 4500, they converted me. The JPEG file format has the ability to store some data desides the image. The Nikon camera includes date, time, shutter speed, in fact, all the camera settings, even whether I manually adjusted the white balance, in the file by default. In addition, the download software allows you to put subject data in the file for all the images you download. You can later go back and update that information on a picture by picture basis. Finally, the download software dates the stored JPEG with the date and time the picture was taken, instead of when it was downloaded. Obviously, depending on the editing software, you loose a lot of this when you tweak the images, but it sure is nice to have all this data tied to the originals. 72/73 de WB8RCR http://www.qsl.net/wb8rcr didileydadidah QRP-L #1446 Code Warriors #35 -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
