Perhaps, but it sure does help when stuck in a particularly slippy piece of road. I've pushed quite a few people out of "problems", which they were in since they didn't have limited slip. Agreed, but some technology is worth the "loss of freedom", like snow tires. Many accidents in my area would be avoided if snow tires were mandatory.
