I had considered it in the past, before I was able to set up a secondary screen on the computer. Now I simply hook up another screen. I don't think it's cost effective to build what would essentially be an E-Book when you can get a palm PDA for $50. I believe there is a PDF reader for the palm system. However, if you're really interested in doing it the hard way, I'll bet that you can use one of the many 640x480 monochrome lcd panels (surplus) with an 18F device running at 40MHz. The easiest method would be to develop a simple character set that could be written to the display on the fly, so you only have to buffer the text going to the display instead of the actual bit patterns. There may be enough processing power left over to read from a simple memory (CF, maybe) and decode a PDF file, but it'd be pretty slow. But it would be very limited (no graphics, etc). Interesting project, though. -Adam zumbi wrote: > Hello, > > I have many datasheets (on PDF), and not always a PC to be able to > read it, also, it's a waste of paper, ink and others having each time > you want something to have to print it.
