        Well, there is confusion because there isn't really any set "standard".
With that said, there is a "common convention": around 1V peak, some give
higher, some give lower, but most will accept 1V peak without problem.

        I'd put it through a cap to get rid of the AC (most input audio stages do
that by default, but it's best to do it on your end) and divide by 5. Use a
pot to fine tune the level. TTYL
