Just downloaded MPLAB 6.40 and in the Picstart+ notes I found the
following - its not available for sale on the Microchip site yet but should
be a nice upgrade to my Picstart - I can finally use the hundreds of
18F1220's that I bought ages ago. If anyone has any more info about this
upgrade then please let me know - I'm dying to get going on the 18F series.

This release supports the new upgrade kit for PICSTART Plus that
allows you to install an upgrade board with a flash device,
instead of a PIC17C44, thus making future upgrades as easy as
downloading a new programmer operating system.

Requirements: For the kit to work, you must NOT have a PICSTART
Plus unit with an assembly number ending in R4 or less.

Units with an assembly number ending in R20 or greater, or with
a sticker stating "Flash Upgradeable", have already been upgraded.
