I only use my own product (Wisp628) for ICSP so I can't say anything for other progranmmers, but you seem to have taken all the necessary precautions. Notes: - Using RB6 and RB7 as outputs is OK, anything you can do with these pins through a resistor that is large compared to the drive abilities of you programmer should be OK. For Wisp628 10k is OK. - I am always a bit worried about brown-out and low-voltage latchup situations. You might want to include a brwon-out reset chip, but take care to have a big resistor between /MCLR and the collector of the BO-chip (and a smaller resistor from there to V+) - Do you pull the LVP input pin low?
