Me too... I just fried two 18F452's today. I messed-up and laid out the
PCB with VSS connected to +5v and VDD connected to 0v... DOH!!!. For
reference, 18F452's get mildly warm when you wire them backwards, and
then go cold (I guess something burns out, fuse style?). They don't work
again afterward :-)
