The datasheets do not mention ratios as you wrote. My example involve the 18F4320
anf the Timer2 prescale and postscale which the datasheet gives the following settings.
Prescaler = 1:1, 1:4, 1:16
Postcaler = 1:1, 1:2
 Are these actually as you describe?
