The first thing when posting to this list is to use a tag. Lots of people filter out the messages depending on the tag. I don't know what are your options purchasing PICs, but most people here will tell you that the '84 is obsolete and you'll be better off using the '628A or even a PIC from the 18 family. However if the MCU you have is the '84 and you are stuck with it, then you have tons of applications for it on the web. A very good place for beginners is www.piclist.com there you'll find very good resources, codes, etc. If you are not into assembler then you can check out www.voti.nl, Jan-Erik has made some good pdf from the info from various web pages that can be found here: www.st-anna-data.se . I don't know what you meant by analog inputs, ADC or comparators or what? but be aware that the '84 has none. Finally, don't forget that the best source of information for any device is it's datasheet and the application notes from the manufacturer. Microchip is very good at those so try www.microchip.com .
