Russel, You have given so many usefull ideas here. Thank you for your reply. However, I might not have been clear in my question. What I would like to test is the "unit" I have built. Not the battery. I have all the relevant notes and have contacted manufacturer. The reason I would like to test the unit is because the unit wakes up about every 500ms and does some stuff. The length of the stuff and the current consumption changes (because the external unit connected to my unit is changing). I did my calculations on the worst case scnerio (the longest time). However, it would be nice to see the experimental results as well. Therefore, I would like to do short-run tests, as many as possible. That is why I am searching for a low mAh rated battery (3.6V). I have one question though, you mentioned: > ...and a low supply current device with a largish filter cap often will... Is a large cap necessity? What would it help solve? (I am really asking).
