Hi, I'm trying to get a MCP2140 (IrDA stack controller) working without much success. I'm using the Agilent HSDL-1001 for the optical interface, and I know it works well because it does work when used with the MCP2150. I think that the problem is at the conditioning of the RXPD signal. The datasheet mentions the digital transistor MUN211T1, but I think it refers to the OnSemi MMUN2111LT1, so I used it. I checked the signal with the oscilloscope, and somehow the output of the transistor doesn't go back to 0 after a pulse is received but only after a 'long' time. Then I tried with a normal transistor, but it was the same, at least it doesn't work yet (don't have the oscilloscope here with me now, but the PC should find an IrDA device...). Finally, I have placed a nice 74HC14 instead of the transistor, but again it doesn't work. Anybody else using the MCP2140 that could share the RXPD section details? Or are the samples broken...?
