I've considered using 4 simple direction buttons to control the camera, but then, I may as well do away with the PIC84, and servos, and just have 2 axis DC motors. Though I may resort to doing it like that (the wedding's in less than 2 weeks!!), I really want a bit more control. Using a 555 would be okay, but the circuit to set that up uses an RC to set the frequency of the PWM, which then would be measured with the PIC. Surely I can cut out the 555 and just use the Cap and variable resistor? Thanx Jinx, I'm studying your design (without the 4017!) http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/joecolquitt/0pots.html Could you give me some quick help on a rough outline of events? I've tried here: VAR1 |-------------| /\/\/\------------> |RA1-------| ^ |-------------| | |---PIC-----| | |--16F84---| | |-------------| |---/\/\/\-------->| RB1------| | |-------------| = CAP |-------------| | GND ********** Initialise Discharge cap (shorting contacts? - Both RB1 and RA1 low?) RB1 high Start Timer Keep checking RA1 until it goes high Store Timer Result **************** Andy Brinkley -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
