I have an idea for a project that would use a small number of largish LCD displays. The project idea so far is to have a character mode display on a screen around 6x4 inches, with up about 6 lines of text. Not being well up on what is available can anyone suggest the way they would do this? I see the following possibilities 1. use a graphics LCD, with character generation to suit a suitable character size. display would need lighting, either backlit or leds on the edge. 2. use a plasma display, with same advantages as (1) 3. use a dot matrix or starburst LED display. Could be an option as power consumption is not a limiting factor (unless unruly large currents required, so limited to about an amp or two would be OK). 4. An LCD starburst display could be an option at a push, but I think these have pretty well disappeared these days. Appreciate any pointers to suitable devices, or possibly surplus stuff in the UK. Would be looking at having 4 to 6 as a project requirement, but could use more if available "at the right price". -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
