I've just desoldered the connector from the LCD and soldered a piece of 16-way IDC cable to the display panel. Contrast is at 0V, Vss/Vcc connected OK (confirmed with multimeter). Unfortunately, the only thing that seems to work is the backlight. Can someone who has one of these displays please test it with my Universal HD44780 LCD Driver code - it's on Piclist.com under I/O > LCD > Universal HD44780...
